Jonathon A. Dallas              Inducted 2019 - Class of 1984

Graduating from Woodward High School in 1984, Drum Major Jon Dallas went on to graduate from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology coupled with a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix where he currently makes his home.

Jon Dallas is an American motivational speaker, author, and global higher educational professional with specialties in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), international student education, instruction, recruitment, and curriculum development. As an accomplished educational leader, Mr. Dallas' strategic vision is to bridge the classroom gap in global higher education between the United States of America, the United Kingdom, the People's Republic of China, and other South and Southeast Asian Nations. Mr. Dallas has spent nearly a decade living and working in mainland China teaching Academic and Business English, learning the Chinese language and culture, experiencing South and Southeast Asian Cultures, and developing critical thought-based

curriculum for student success. He is succinctly familiar with the many aspects of international academic programs for faculty, students, and business professionals and has taught all educational levels in both the United States and the People's Republic of China.

While with both feet firmly planted in both American and Chinese culture, Mr. Dallas has a congeniality which allows him to connect with students, faculty, and administrators from multiple backgrounds and build a strong level of trust which is essential in any cultural exchange of ideas. As a native English speaker, Mr. Dallas commands varying proficiency in Mandarin, French, and Spanish languages.

Mr. Dallas is currently Senior Lecturer in the International Business School of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics in Kunming, Yunnan where he instructs collegiate level courses in English Speech and Debate, Journal English, Survey of English-Speaking Nations, Intermediate and Advanced Communication Principles, English Composition, Advanced Business English, International Business Negotiation, and International Trade Principles. He is also the Senior Lecturer in the Sino-UK Post graduate Collaborative Education Program in Real Estate Management and Project Management between Yunnan University of Finance and Economics and the University of Greenwich in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Dallas' significant experience in Chinese Culture and Society has afforded him a unique opportunity to publish a book, SO YOU WANT TO TEACH IN CHINA. Published in 2016, the book chronicles teaching English and guides potential professionals through a seamless transition into Chinese culture and society.
